Is streaming getting out of control? Or is it just the future of things?
One thing is for sure, with the plethora of streaming options, it makes life easier in one part, but more difficult in others.

Let me explain.
As of right now, I subscribe to way too many streaming services. From Netflix and Disney +, to Peacock and Paramount and beyond. The issue is I like aspects of each one that I subscribe to, but in the end, financially, it’s probably too much.
So the costs add up. But each one of them has so many great options that it makes it hard to get rid of one. There will come a time, however, when some hard decisions have to be made. Sometimes, you just can’t keep every service. Are there things you want to watch? Sure. But there are only so many hours in the day.

Recently, I started going through each service. My plan is to look and jot down the things I want to watch. From movies to series to everything in between, there are so many great things out there.
I will keep a few, at all times, no matter what.
I have a premium subscription to YouTube to avoid commercials and such while watching videos. Considering how much I watch YouTube, that will stay. Peacock is affordable and has a lot of good things, including all of the WWE stuff, so that will stay. Netflix likely is on this list, too.
Paramount, for example, probably doesn’t have to be all the time. It might be worth binging for a few months and canceling, and then go back to it and repeat. My Disney+ is a bundle with ESPN+ and Hulu. With those prices going up, there has to be some thinking there. ESPN I use so I can watch Quinnipiac hockey when they are on it; Hulu is hit or miss, and I do like Disney + for various things. But do I need the bundle?
Prime comes with my normal Prime subscription, so that’s a keeper. Apple TV has good things, but I don’t always watch it.
Some of these I’d be better off being able to subscribe for a year at a time, rather than monthly. If I can do that for some and get a slight discount, I’ll probably be more apt to do it – though I’ll want to try and do them at different times of the year so as not to stack them in one month.
There are other premium services – such as Starz – that have a lot of great things that I want to see, and I’d be interested to do a short-term thing with them to do some binging.
There are good things about all of this, though. With all the options there are out there, it’s coming to a point where you don’t necessarily need cable anymore. High-speed internet? Of course. But the ability to watch what you want and where is amazing. And past TV shows are available. Sure, there are some local options that might not be there, but overall, streaming is changing the dynamic of TV entertainment.
So how about all of you? How do you manage what streaming services you have, or don’t you have them at all?

Currently we have Direct TV but the price continues to increase so we’re starting to look at cutting the cord (or satellite). We have Netflix and Paramount through T-mobile. Looking at YouTubeTV but because they have local stations for news. But they don’t have the Science or History channel that we both like. Fubu has a lot of the stations we like but not all. We pay extra for Starz. Not sure what we’re going to do so we don’t do anything different! One thing’s for sure….they are all expensive if you keep adding streaming services.

I’ve been starting to write down a lot of things and prices etc. Eventually I’ll have my end figured out, but there is just so much!
