Welcome to A ‘lil HooHaa.
As I reach the middle-age years (not there yet, but creeping in), I’ve found I don’t know much about myself. I’m still learning as I go through the process of life.
I’ve had tomatoes hurled at me for much of my life and I’m sick of getting hit by them, so I’m ducking now and hoping I find a great path in life.
This blog will be part of that.
It’s a potpourri of my world. Photography. Life. Geocaching. Sports. Disc golf. Homebrewing. Anything else. Real world. The war against bad grammar and Internet shorthand. I’ll even throw in some good old-fashioned journalistic things at times.
Basically, whatever is on my mind.
Sometimes it’s funny, sometimes it’s serious, sometimes it’s random.
There’s no niche here because there’s only a few things I know to be fact in this world:
- The three most beautiful things in the world are a perfectly poured pint of Guinness, a freshly cut and lined baseball field and a sunset over a large body of water.
- Cold-cheese pizza is a delicacy.
- The flight of a disc golf disc is really amazing to watch.
- Going fast is fun.
- Craft beers rule.
I’m also always in search of the perfect hot dog.
This blog is basically my little corner of the Internet where I can talk about whatever. I keep it pretty easy, so hopefully it’s a place readers will feel welcome to come back, visit and comment.
A little about me: I’m an award-winning journalist who is no longer in newspapers. So this site (and my other: RattlingChains.com) are my avenues to continue writing. This site, as noted above, will have a bit of everything. But it’s a way for me to still do some journalistic pieces, yet just write for the sake of writing.
Finally, about the top saying. No, this isn’t a food blog. That saying comes from a baseball game. After newly acquired Hunter Pence scored a winning run for the Phillies, he was interviewed on field and asked what he was thinking. His response? “Good game, let’s go eat.” It spread like wildfire in Philly and me and another friend have bounced it back and forth with different things in the first part. Then I decided to put it on the blog and that’s where it’s stayed. Here’s the original clip of Pence:

I’m extremely big into photography. I consider myself a serious amateur. I really enjoy seeing things in a different light, which is what taking photos does at times. Whether it’s a beautiful view, sports action shots or something else, the camera can help tell a story.
You can see a lot of my work by clicking the link below and going to my Flickr site.
