This has been a mantra of mine recently, it seems. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I mean, truthfully, don\u2019t we all think this at some point or another? Do you really want to be an adult?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can\u2019t I just stay home and hang out with Harper? I think she\u2019d enjoy that.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

Remember when you were a kid?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGod! I can\u2019t wait to grow up.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If there was time travel, I\u2019d go back and slap myself right in the face. Reality is, though, you can\u2019t stop time. Father Time always wins. As does Mother Nature. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the whole grindstone thing. Having to work five days a week\u2026 40 hours a week. Other parts of the world have four-day work weeks. My favorite when people say this is the \u201cOh you want to work fewer hours and get paid the same?\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I mean, sure.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Studies do show that shorter work weeks help morale and productivity. But those people yapping about the first part here likely wouldn\u2019t understand facts anyway. <\/p>\n\n\n

But I\u2019m open to four 10-hour days if I get a three-day weekend. Give me Fri-Sun off and I can deal with the longer days. But in other countries where the four-day workweek is, I don\u2019t think it\u2019s 40 hours a week anymore, but I\u2019m not sure the hours and such or the conditions etc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adulting, though, definitely sucks some. Bills, other expenses, going to work, dealing with personal life, health and many more things. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Goodness knows we don\u2019t make enough money to cover all of the adulting \u2026 amiright? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alas, we work the best we can to make our world and those in it as good as we can. Over time and as I have aged, I try to work on things differently. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adulting, I am finding out, is a balance. You have to do everything you feel is necessary, but have to spend some frivolous time, too. And hobbies \u2013 you need hobbies. You need to get around and see things and breathe the fresh air. Be creative. Take naps. Goodness, take naps. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And pet dogs. Lots of them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reality is we have to adult. There\u2019s no stopping it \u2013 unless you hit a lottery or are independently wealthy. Even then you will still have to be an adult sometimes. So, make the best of it \u2026 and when you don\u2019t have to \u201cadult,\u201d well \u2026 avoid it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
