When I was a kid \u2026 <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Life was so much more simple. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You could be care free. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Run and play. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

TV was a luxury, not a way to waste time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I was a kid \u2026<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You could have toy guns without the fear of people thinking they were real. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You could play in the woods and run through creeks without worrying about getting kidnapped. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Playing video games was a reward at the end of the day, not a \u201csport.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I was a kid \u2026<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The internet wasn\u2019t around. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Smart phones were when you got a push-button phone instead of a rotary dial. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Walking to school was normal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I was a kid \u2026 <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You played outside. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Youth sports consisted of a pick-up game in the park. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Summer swimming was great, until adult lap swim kicked you out every hour for 15 minutes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I was a kid \u2026 <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our parents watched us without hovering. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We could scrape our knees without somebody thinking our parents were failures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We knew we were loved and cared for and didn\u2019t take it for granted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I was a kid \u2026 <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The world didn\u2019t seem so crazy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

News wasn\u2019t always depressing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You didn\u2019t stare at a screen all day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I was a kid \u2026 <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I couldn\u2019t wait to become an adult. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I wanted a job to make money. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I couldn’t wait to grow up and do more.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now I’m an adult … <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh to be a kid again. Not in this day and age, but back when you were allowed to be a kid in the truest sense of the word.<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n
