Photo Blogging Challenge (July 2018): Staying cool

Another month and … late.

Ha!

This time, though, I must say that I really screwed it up because I had the wrong theme. That seems pretty silly for the person who posts the themes, doesn’t it?

Yes … yes it does.

So this month is all about staying cool. Some of the photos I took for the “other” theme I’ve been able to use here, which is nice.

Sorry for the delay on this. I don’t think we need me rambling this month!

So let’s get on with it. I’m late enough as it is! Here’s my five for the month!

1. A tall cold one!

This has to keep you cool on a hot day!

 

2. Staying hydrated

OK, this isn’t a sales pitch. But I recently got a Hydro Flash. Expensive, but so worth it. Best water bottle I’ve ever had. And it’s great when out in the heat to stay cool!

 

3. In the woods

Is there anything better than a stream like this in the woods! Definitely helps you stay cool!

 

4. Rushing water

More ways to stay cool… if you come upon something like this, stick your head in it!

 

5. Brrrrr!

When in doubt… hop in here!

Photo Blogging Challenge: July 2018’s theme is …

OK then.

So, the summer is here. And I am not sure what it’s like near you, but it’s been unseasonably hot here. I know it’s summer, but this has been brutal.

Makes me happy I am not playing softball anymore. I don’t deal in extreme heat that well, and add in the humidity and it’s tougher. It’s just not… fun.

And I get lazy with a lot of stuff, which isn’t good. Heck, I haven’t even been to as many baseball games as I usually am!

So.. let’s get a theme out there and see if we can’t figure out some good photos!

But first, here are a few other challenges to keep in mind:

Challenge 1: Tell others about this photo blogging challenge and get some friends to come join us.  Let’s see if we can get people interested in the challenge again.

Challenge 2: Make friends with your camera and see what you can come up with. Have fun!

Challenge 3 is at the end of this post (the theme!).

Before this, here’s come housekeeping items.

Here’s how it works.

  • See the theme (first day of the month);
  • Take photos throughout the month (don’t use old ones!);
  • Select five photos and create a blog post;
  • Come back here and link up on the final day of the month;
  • Use the official hashtag — #Photoblogchal — on social media posts;
  • Hopefully go visit and comment on other blogs.

That’s it. There’s no rules on equipment or anything else. Blog posts can be short and to the point, or in-depth. Interpret the themes as you see fit.

The one big rule?

Have fun!

Photo Blogging Challenge (June 2018): Fun

I feel as though it gets harder and hard to stay on time with this (and other) challenges. I just haven’t had the urge lately to do a lot of blogging (for several months) and I need to correct that. I think once I do that, I’ll be able to keep on task for other things.

I have ideas for posts, that’s for sure. But with so much going on with work and other aspects of life, I don’t always have the drive. I need to change that.

And make it fun.

Good transition there, right?

Well, better late than never this month. And the theme was fun… so it will be interesting to see what everybody thought was fun.

As for me… a lot will be predictable!

So let’s get on with it. I’m late enough as it is! Here’s my five for the month!

1. Hit it!

Cameron’s next step to stardom in baseball came as part of t-ball. Look at that swing and concentration! A natural!

2. Pizza

When you have to watch what you eat and the carb intake and all… sometimes you have to splurge. And it’s fun to do so — especially with some cold cheese pizza!

3. Foul ball

Baseball is amazingly fun. Especially when you can nab a foul ball!

4. Geocaching

I have hopes of finding my 5,000th this year and am setting up when I can do it and what cache I would like it to be. So … I need to get at it!

5. High five!

Nothing better than a high five from Cam’s dad when he gets to third!

OK, to say I’ve lazed out on this month … would be an understatement.

Honestly, I need to get the blogging mojo back again. I can’t only post contests. So that is a goal of mine the rest of the year — get back into blogging and having fun with it.

But that’s neither here nor there. Instead, we’re talking photos!

This month’s theme is late — I know. My apologies. But, I think I’ve come up with a theme that is easy enough that there’s no time lost!

So, let’s get on with it. I’m late enough. You don’t want to read my rambles!

Photo Blogging Challenge (May 2018): Outdoor activities

The weather seems to finally being helpful to be outdoors.

At least some of the time.

And, of course, that probably depends on where in the world you are.

In the Northeast — at least near me — it’s been harder at times to get outside. Rain and gloomy weather. But we’ve had some.

So, it was time to get outdoors.

For this month, I basically went with my phone. I need to start using my main camera more, but at times it’s not easy to want to drag it around!

There’s a lot of ways to handle this theme, so how did you do it? Mine are below!

So let’s get on with this! Here are my five and I look forward to other posts!

1. Hiding

When outside activities are mentioned, geocaching is one of them. This month I hid a few caches for a challenge (this is one spot), and I also found a bunch as I had the chance to attend GeoWoodstock, which became the first giga event in North America.

 

2. Creative finds

Who says all micro finds have to be crappy? This is one we found during the GwoWoodstock trip. Very nicely done!

 

3. Traditional find

It’s still nice to find the more “traditional” finds while out caching. In a tree, in some woods etc.

 

4. Baseball

When the warmer weather comes, I watch as much baseball as I can. It’s a great way to spend a day/night.

Perfect day for #baseball!

 

5. Yum

Not a great shot — but wanted to capture the moment as Cameron was fully focused on this ice cream!
