Life can be truly frustrating, that’s for sure.
And when life builds up stress and other items, the frustrations on how you live your life can get crazy, too. And when that happens, there’s no telling in which direction different things will go.
Basically, I can’t figure some things out.
I’ve picked up my exercise. Though I will admit not as well as I should be doing and I know I need to do much more. I’ve said this before and I’ll likely say it again in time. But the issue is trying to deal with the stress and all in my professional world, relaxing enough by the time I get home, and then going out for a nice walk sometime after dinner just to let my body relax a bit and get the exercise it needs.
I feel like I have been a broken record with this at times.
Motivation is something I need to start having with myself. And I know there needs to be extended amounts of exercise for things to really work, but it’s also frustrating when you do some good exercise and nothing happens.
Earlier this week, I went out for a decent hike. I had to collect some geocaches and it was in a state park. I enjoyed the walk and it made me realize I truly do need to get back into geocaching more. For one, it’s a way just to be out and moving. For two, it’s nice to be able to challenge myself to get out into nature and exercise with a purpose.
The weather is turning nicer, too, which is helpful. That means I need to start getting my bike out more and going for rides. A 20-30 minute ride around town is good to get the heart pumping a little and, at the same time, give me needed exercise.
My eating habits, for the most part, have improved. While I won’t say I’m perfect, I can say I’m eating smarter and usually have had smaller portions. I also am trying to stay away from junk or, at worst, just having something very small.
Taking all that in mind, the frustration is still there because the numbers are still wonky. I know I have to do more and I’m not giving myself a true chance, yet, to really get where I need to be. But I did think with the changes I have made that I would see some results.
Even the times I’m out doing more, the numbers don’t improve much.
So this is my call to myself. I have to really push myself, get some motivation, and just do it. When I get home from work, I don’t often want to go out and do things – but I need to start doing something to keep me active and motivated.
I know this is a long journey, but results are important to keep moving forward. I will keep pushing as it is something that must be done.
