This Saturday is St. Patrick’s Day.
I’m sure most of you already know that. And, truthfully, it’s always been a day where people use it as an excuse to get plastered. As my brother calls it, amateur hour.
Still, having a pint o’ the black stuff on that day is a thing that should be done!
This year, Guinness is looking for people to pledge their support for the day, raise a pint and make St. Patrick’s Day the “Friendliest Day of the Year.”
The beer maker is doing this through its Facebook page.
The Facebook page for Guinness, when you go to pledge you’ll raise a pint says:
This year help us make St Patrick’s Day the biggest, best and most enjoyable celebration yet! We need your pledges if we’re going to be recognised by Guinness World Records.™ To claim the official title we need two things: the most online pledges ever and the biggest St Patrick’s Day party ever.
All you have to do to help set the world record is pledge to get out there with your mates and have a great St Patrick’s Day! Can we count you in?
So will you pledge?
I pledged! As of my pledge, there were 26, 226 people pledged to do this in the United States. And many, many more around the world.
After doing so, I got this note:
Congratulations.
You’re now part of an official world record attempt!
Let’s make this the greatest St Patrick’s Day worldwide. Invite all your mates to join the celebration and keep checking back to see how big the party gets. Here’s to the Friendliest Day of the Year.
I also got this super-sweet certificate:
So go pledge your support!
Let’s make St. Patrick’s Day the Friendliest Day of the Year.
And while you’re at it, tip a pint of the black stuff!
Fundraiser: I am, again, trying to raise money for the Relay For Life. If you donate to me — even a small amount — you will be entered to win a super-sweet quilted scarf. Click here for all the information!
