A Day Zero Project goal of P.J.’s has been completed!
Goal completed: Eat at 10 new restaurants.
Date completed: March 5, 2011.
Number: 7 (remember, these goals will not all be done in order. It’s a random list where the numbers actually are).
Description: The idea of this goal was so I’d go out and try some new places to eat, whether on the recommendation of someone or because I saw a place that looked good. It’s just a way to try some new things, either while traveling or in my home area. I thought it would be a cool goal to complete.
Why I wanted to do it: To try something different and to eat at different places. It also helped with my other goal of skipping out on fast food as I looked to try some other things when out and about.
How I did it: I ate at 10 new places. Those were: Portland Lobster Company (Portland, Maine), Gilbert’s Chowder House (Portland, Maine), Nick’s (Endicott, NY), Fireside (Schenectady, NY), Katz’s Deli (New York City), O’Reilly’s (New York City), Pour Jim’s (Mayfield, NY), Downtown Deli Company (Oneonta, NY), Piggy Pat’s (New Hartford, NY), Ronni MacGregor’s Pub (Hunter, NY). I really enjoyed all the places that I tried — but the items that stand out include the lobster rolls at the Portland Lobster Company, the seafood chowder at Gilbert’s, the pastrami on rye at Katz’s and the BBQ ham at Piggy Pat’s.
About P.J.’s Day Zero Project: Day Zero is a project where people come up with 101 things to do over 1001 days. I started the project on Oct. 10, 2010 with an anticipated finish date of July 8, 2013. Goals will not be revealed until they are completed. A private list is at the Day Zero website and the list will be made public upon completion of the project. It’s my thoughts that if things are kept private, should I not do them, change or find a way around it, I’d only be cheating myself.
