I was flipping through the paper while eating this morning and was checking out the car ads, as I usually do.
I came across this:
- 2009 Lexus GS350 AWD.
$40,000
$659 per month
That’s for 72 months! That comes out to $47,448 when all said and done!
Now, I realize that people who would actually purchase this car could afford a $40,000 car. But $659 per month?? For 72 months?? In this economy and job market, I couldn’t imagine that it would be wise to get into something like this, just to find out a year or two down the road something bad could happen etc.
In the same ad …
- 2007 Shelby Mustang
Auto, leather
4,000 miles
$25,000 or $421 per month
Yikes, part deux!
I know the Mustangs are muscle cars and some people really dig getting into them — but dang! That’s some serious coin!
There were some cars that were below $200 per month — Grand Ams etc. But hey, why go low when you can go high, right?
I’m glad my car payment is actually affordable!
More later!
I am glad both our cars are paid off!
You just can’t get a new car (or truck) for a decent price these days. The cost of everything has gone through the roof.
