This month’s theme of “people” turned out to be a little harder than I expected!
I don’t know why, either. It’s probably because I didn’t get out with my camera as much as I would have wanted. A lot went on personally this month, so I wasn’t able to do everything I wanted to do.
But that’s OK, as I can make due.
I’m really looking forward to some of the others and what they post as there are some great photographers in the challenge, so it will be interesting to see some interpretations.
For me, I just went with people in shots. I wanted to make sure they were the focus of the image, but I didn’t do anything crazy, like street photography. I’m not too hot at doing that, anyway, so it’s better this way.
So, without further ado, here are my five shots for this month’s challenge. For those involved, the link up is at the bottom of the post, as per normal!
1. Building
I took some photos of a construction site early in the month. There were trusses being put on a house. This was a shot from there as they neared the end of the trusses.
2. Game night
I try and get to a game night each week with several friends. I don’t always make it, but it’s always a good time. This was a day we played a game called Twilight Imperium, which is an insanely in-depth and awesome game. This is the panoramic option on the iPhone.
3. Pulling back
From a 2CW show last weekend. The lighting was off and I couldn’t get the flash to react how I wanted it to, so I bumped the ISO and then decided to change it to black and white. I like how this one came out as it has an old-school feel to it.
4. Geocaching can be crazy!
This one comes from a night event. This was our host of the event and she dressed up for the theme, which was when a geocacher was setting off into space. Pretty cool thing overall and the event was quite fun!
5. Eddie Edwards
At the two 2CW shows last weekend, Eddie Edwards was on the card. He had a tryout with WWE, so the thought is he will soon be heading to the big leagues. It’s well deserved as he’s amazingly talented. Kevin got a photo with him at the Watertown show.
And that’s my five for the month of November.
If you took part this month, make sure you link up below. And for those who participated, make sure you try and get to other people’s blogs and comment and visit so we can continue to grow this challenge.
Don’t forget, too, to come back Sunday (Dec. 1) and see the theme for December!
NOTE: I also set up a Facebook group for those who participate in the challenge and are interested. I’ll post any announcements there and hopefully it can be a place where things are discussed and some interaction etc. You can access it here.

A nice selection of photos. That game looks interesting. There’s a lot of pieces involved and the photo of the wrestlers is really nice!

The game is really pretty cool. Thanks!
Good call on the pulling back image – intriguing!
Course, I linked up.
Cheers, PJ!

Thanks! It was one of my favorites as well!
Good stuff. The pano shot looks more like a fisheye. The b+w and the geocacher one are standouts as well.

Yeah, the pano feature on the iPhone is kind of fun in that regard.
The game shot brought back some very nice memories for me. Several of my friends and I used to play a 3M Bookshelf game (now Avalon Hill if it’s still available) called Diplomacy. The game took forever and we’d sometime leave it up at someone’s house for days before we’d finally finish. I haven’t played that game in probably close to 10 years now.

See now that’s the type of game that would be cool. I think this one, with like 5-6 people, could take upward of 10-12 hours. I think that would be pretty insane and intense.
The B/W picture is a great shot! Love wrestling!

Thanks, Phil!
pulling back is a fabulous shot … but i am a sucker for a blue sky, so naturally i love the first photo … love the angel, love the clouds …

Wow! Great shots. Catching an expression on a face at the right moment is the hardest thing to do. I love the first photo, too.

Very true about the expression. Sometimes I get mad when I miss the good ones!
These are wonderful!!!! I especially love the geocaching one. I had to take all my caches down… one was stolen… one was trashed, things stolen twice, then i moved it and then THAT was stolen. Sigh. Your eye is wonderful… I love WHERE you stood taking the pictures!

That is so annoying. We had a situation a year or so ago around here where somebody came through and stole ammo cans. I think it was a cacher, because they did it for harder puzzle caches, too. I hope you get to put more out.
Ii can really feel the pain in #3. Great decision to go with black and white. It makes it look even more raw! And geocashing in space looks awesome! Great captures for November. 🙂

Yeah, I think the black and white also gives that old-school wresting feel. 🙂
Cool set of photos, P.J. I like the way the pano warped the table, and B&W was defintiely the way to go for the wrestling pic. Great shot.

Thanks, Mike!
I was so eager to look at all the other posts that I almost forgot to leave a comment here. Thanks for a theme that pushed me outside my comfort zone. Your selection of photos shows just how comfortable you are photographing people, perhaps a result of your journalism days? Anyhow, I like the wide range of activities you showed. Looking forward to tomorrow’s reveal of the December theme.

I’m glad this theme pushed you a bit more. I figured this one would make people go outside of their comfort zone a little, so that’s a good thing!
