Oh, the great outdoors.
There are so many ways to look and interpret this theme. I’ll be excited to see what other participants this month came up with as I think it could be done in many interesting days.
I took it in a more literal sense — in other words, anything outdoors.
The weather has been absolutely fine for the most part this month, so getting outdoors hasn’t been a problem. I’ve taken images with my main camera and phone throughout the month, so below are my top five for the month.
Enjoy!
1. Disc golf
I actually, finally, had the chance to get out and play some disc golf this month. It had been several months, but it was good to get out. Well, besides the bugs! They were awful.
2. Color
At the end of the month, a couple of us went to grab a few geocaches. One of them brought us to this spot. Quite a beautiful view, that’s for sure. A little extremely processed, but I liked it.
3. Find-A-Grave
I went out a few times this month and did some Find-A-Grave photographs. This was one grave that really looked quite interesting, and seemed pretty old school.
4. Save these trees
I’ve seen these things quite a bit, especially in certain areas around me.
5. Apples
I used this one for the other challenge, but it’s fully outdoors and one of my favorite images of the month, so I had to use it!
And that’s my five for the month of September.
If you took part this month, make sure you link up below. And for those who participated, make sure you try and get to other people’s blogs and comment and visit so we can continue to grow this challenge.
Don’t forget, too, to come back tomorrow and see the theme for October!
NOTE: I also set up a Facebook group for those who participate in the challenge and are interested. I’ll post any announcements there and hopefully it can be a place where things are discussed and some interaction etc. You can access it here.
Feel free to leave a comment, or e-mail P.J. at hoohaablog@gmail.com. Also, please “Like” HooHaa Blog on Facebook!
I think some photos look good when they are overly processed.
The grave stone does look interesting – very old and basic, with not much information on it.

I don’t disagree. That’s also why I want to learn HDR as you can really do some things to photos with that.
Great pics. P.J. The forst one doesn’t surprise me, knowing what a fan you are. I still love the apple shot. It is amazing.

It was nice to get out and throw some discs. I hadn’t done it in a while!
I absolutely love the apple shot, and can see why it’s one of your faves. I’ve never played Find-A-Grave, but am fascinated by old headstones. Maybe I’ll try it some day! All great finds for the month. 🙂

Thanks! Find-A-Grave isn’t really “played,” rather you are helping people. The website has an amazing amount of cemeteries and graves listed. People request headstone photos for help with genealogy etc. It’s really quite cool as it’s helping other people out!
That apple pic has my vote!
PJ, Thank you again for hosting, I’ve linked up.

I enjoyed that photo, too. 🙂
I’m still in love with that apple photo, but the rest are great, too. The grave photo is quite arresting, and the one of the beautiful trees and water looks exactly like Finland. 🙂 Great job, PJ.

Let me tell you about that apple photo … the apples were delish! 🙂
Count me in as a lover of the apple photo! It has me thinking I need to go find an apple orchard!

Thanks so much! It’s the first time I picked apples and it was fun and photogenic!
really great pictures and the monthly theme is cool. What are the rules for participating in your monthly photo themes as far as when to post the pictures?

It seems to be a hit! 🙂
Apples pic is definitely my favourite!
I’m a day late (still out of control after a week away) and will have to save checking the other entries until later in the week. Something to look forward to Friday morning.
Thanks again, PJ. Can’t wait to learn what challenge you’ve got in store for us this month.

Nah, you weren’t late. Right on time! And checking everything later in the week works as well as people can still see the thoughts coming in! 😉
Nice! I really liked the headstone. Very cool.
One of the photos on mine is right next to a disc golf basket. I should have included that.
Link is fixed now, that’s what I get for multitasking.

That headstone was pretty wild, I thought, too. And they know who it is well enough to know he’s a vet, too.
Wonderful pictures. I really liked #2 with the water and #5 with the apples. Great shots.

Always worried about ones like No. 2 in being overprocessed, but I liked the feel of it for sure.
WOW… find a grave is really amazing… I want to do that!!!! The ash tree is fascinating… and the water picture so reminds me of where we hike in Suffolk!

Find-a-grave is great because it allows you to help others in researching family etc. Plus, it gets you out looking for these headstones.
Nice pics, P.J. I like the overly processed fall pic. I should play with some post processing myself. Sometimes it’s the only way to get those colours out.

That photo was actually all done on my iPhone. The phone and Snapseed.
Great set of shot, PJ. It’s really getting quite pretty up in your neck of the woods.

Thanks, Cheryl. It is getting nice up here. I need to get out and maybe find a place to hike to get some photos, too. I have a place in mind if I can get there this week!

Hmmmm. I thought for sure I’d commented on this one. Well, I guess not, so here goes again. After missing out on the summer collection, I was able to make, what I feel, is a good stab at the outdoors blog entry.
And I still feel the best shot of your group is the apple shot.

Thanks, Paul. It’s funny, though, when I took that apple shot I wasn’t thinking it would be all special. And people seem to really love it!
