OK, so I’m pushing it a little here.
It’s not really my junk.
But considering I’m only in a couple days of this challenge, I figured I’d push the envelope a bit. And if somebody didn’t like it all that much? Well, one of the head honchos is in Finland, so I’m not too worried. Plus, it’s not like the leaders of said challenge haven’t pushed the buttons a little in my monthly challenge, right?
RIGHT?
Exactly.
So anyway, this photo I’ve chosen for this challenge comes from picking apples yesterday. The goal of apples is to make an Apple Crisp Ale beer. Yeah, you heard right. Yum.
But that’s not junk, that’s pure awesomeness.
This place had so many apples and so many varieties. What caught my eye was the apples not on the trees. Are these junk? Still good? I don’t know. I stuck with plucking them off the trees.
Some on the ground looked fine. Some not so much. I imagine those would be junk. Maybe not mine, but you get the idea.
To see other’s who are participating in the challenge and did this day’s image, head over to Ziva’s Inferno to check it out!

I like it. Not really Junkie but, I like it.

One man’s junk is another man’s treasure? 🙂

Apple Crisp ale beer – nom nom nom
Thanks, Tami. And yes on the beer.. I can’t wait.
Um, um, good-looking apples. I’ll have a beer now, please.
Very nice job with the photos!

I’m excited for the beer… once I brew, six to seven weeks later, I’ll be able to report back! 🙂
Okay, that’s a truly stunning photo, but clearly not junk, you cheater. 😉 Still, the photo is so pretty that I forgive you. I hope the Apple Crisp Ale turns out good. 🙂

Now, now, now… some of those apples on the ground were in awful shape. Covered in ants. Half-eaten. So yes, they were junk! 🙂
Both of those are lovely photos! And I am very interested in trying that Apple Crisp Ale Beer. Are you holding a tasting party?
Malisa recently posted..30 Days of Photographs IV: Day 17…Junk
I wish I could hold an online tasting party! 😉

I agree, Phil. I can’t wait to taste it — once it’s done!
PJ, really nice photos of some not so junky apples!
Thanks, Linda!
I don’t know how apples can be junk unless they’re worm ridden. Right there I see one third of my morning smoothie.

Some of these were truly awful, but most weren’t.
Care to share this smoothie recipe?
Scoop of protein powder, one banana, one apple and a cupful or so of frozen berries. Add a little milk and throw it all in the Vitamixer until smooth.
Paul Myers recently posted..National Park Signs
Thanks, Paul. I don’t have protein powder, but I’m sure I can get it. Sounds like something I’d like to try. I might have to do it and then do a blog post about it. 🙂
Terrific picture!

Those are gorgeous pictures… but the first one in particular? Stunning!
Thanks so much, Katherine!
If only my junk was that yummy and then became an ale… wow!
Looks good to me.

I can’t wait for the ale, either! 🙂
I want your beer recipe, P.J. Or better yet, your beer! The apples that fall on the ground are usually good for apple cider.

The recipe comes from the Brooklyn Brew Shop beer recipe book. There’s a ton of cool looking recipes in there. 🙂
Beautiful photo! I agree, the organizers of this little shindig have pushed a few buttons. I say push back! 😉

We’re pushing your buttons, Nora?
I’m so proud.
Ziva, any thoughts here?
Many. The foremost is perhaps a cackling evil laugh.

You guys are downright nuts. That’s all I have to say. 🙂
P.J. recently posted..30 Days of Photographs IV: Transparent
That first photo is strikingly beautiful, PJ. Not junky at all, and one of the best photos so far in this challenge. Wow.

I’m so proud. Ziva, any thoughts?
