I can’t believe March is pretty much over.
And so ends the first month of the monthly Photo Blogging Challenge. I’m kind of hoping I’m not the only one who did this for the month. It’s hard to have a month-long challenge because people might forget about it.
Alas, I’ve done what I could.
Let me remind people of the basic premise of this challenge. The idea is to take photos throughout the month and have a blog post with your five favorites. The post can be in-depth or pretty simple. But one needs just five photos.
This month’s theme was “My World.”
This theme definitely left some room for interpretation. The way I went about it was basically taking five photos from the month that showed something about me. At least I hope these shots did. They are in no particular order, but here are the five.
Anyway, without further adieu.
1. Old tennis ball
I find odd things to take photos of, which is part of my world. I see things differently. And I like that. It makes it kind of fun. That’s why as I was leaving a park earlier this month, this caught my eye. I spent probably 15-20 minutes shooting this. And I really like how this one came out. My world is quirky when I have a camera in hand.
2. Meow
My cat isn’t always the brightest. She seems to thing cardboard is the best thing. But, Molson (yes, named after the beer) is quite the character. Good cat, too. Even though she can be annoying as sin. Here she is finding some cardboard.
3. Geocaching
One of my favorite hobbies — and a major part of my world — is geocaching. It’s a great way to get outside. You get to find something, have fun and see what is out and about.
4. Disc golf
I love disc golf. I run another blog which is all disc golf. So I knew I needed a shot for that. This one was via the iPhone, but I like it. The bottom disc is the site I own. The other is a wood disc we were trying for a future review. It’s a great game.
5. Homebrewing
This is new to my world, but an absolute blast. And I’m starting to learn more and more. Hopefully I can keep going with it. This is another iPhone photo, and it’s an Irish Stout I did.
There’s my five and I look forward to seeing how others (if there are any) interpreted the theme.
Still, another theme will be posted tomorrow.

It is a great venture… 🙂
What a nice spread of subjects, and a great way to start off the challenge by telling everyone something about yourself.
Molson is such a cutie. I usually take a million photos of my cats, and I was going to include one in the challenge, but to my horror, I noticed I hadn’t taken any photos of the cats this month. Very weird, indeed.
I absolutely love the photo of the tennis ball, and it illustrates the weirdness of photography so well. I can spend so much time taking photos of strange things like garbage, as long as I think I can get an interesting shot.
I hope there will be more people joining, I’m enjoying this challenge a lot. 🙂

Thanks, Ziva. I appreciate it. My cat rarely lets me take photos of her, so when I do I try and make it good. 🙂
And fully agreed with the tennis ball!
Just in under the wire and looking forward to the “big reveal” of April’s theme.
I’ve seen a couple of your photos in the weekly challenge, but the tennis ball deserves a second look. I like the way you interpreted the theme to share some of the activities you enjoy.

And the funny thing about the tennis ball — I almost didn’t do anything. I was driving out of the parking lot when I saw it. Almost said heck with it, then backed up and went to town taking photos of it!
I love the photo of your cat. It looks about 6 seconds away from sheer ecstasy. We used to have a cardboard cat and it was so much cheaper and easier to please than catnip cats.

Who knew a cardboard box was that powerful, eh?
Okay here I am. Better late than never. Was out of town over the Ester weekend. Great pics, P.J. I particularly love the name of that Irish stout!

I think for next month and beyond, I’m going to keep the link tool active for three days or so, giving people a chance to fully catch up if needed.
Great pho9tos, P.J.! Very nice!

Ok, I guess I’m too late to join in… not that I really did but I kind of tried and I’ll try harder next time…

This is my first rodeo, so hoping it will flow smoother and allow some “time errors” as we move forward!
Those are awesome pictures, PJ. I especially enjoyed the tennis ball picture. It’s the most mundane subject ever, but your picture makes it look so other-worldly and colorful. Did you do anything to touch up the image, or is that just how it came out?
Also, I’m sorry I flaked out and didn’t participate in the photo challenge for this month. March was a crazy month for me. Let’s see if April goes any better.

Thanks, KZ. I tweaked it somewhat in the RAW conversion and then just the levels when it was brought into Photoshop.
No problem on March. I figured the first couple might be tough as people decide if they want to do it or not. Hope to see you in April with it!
I’m late too 🙂
But, better late than never!

No problem, Barb. I’ll leave the link thing up a little longer in future months!
I thought I put my better late than never post in the comments, but I don’t see it. Here it is, better late than never. I’ll get on it this month!

Not seeing you on time shocked me, Mike. Especially with a photo challenge!
Oh man!!! How did I miss a photo challenge! Damn damn damn!!!
There’s always April, Katherine!
