As absurd as it sounds, I’m going to come clean.
I feel I need to do this. To get this weight off my shoulder. To realize that I can’t blame Nicky and Mike for this challenge any longer. I just can’t do it.
I can do a lot of things, such as wonder why Mike still hasn’t found the geocache across the street from his home.
Across. The. Street.
But I can’t blame him (or Nicky) for this challenge anymore.

Working for cheese may be absurd, but it’s not as absurd as trying to get through to the media giant!
Well, yes I can. But I also need to come clean about the fact that I was an active pusher of having this challenge return.
I just hope I’m not the only one. See, I truly enjoyed the challenge last year. It was refreshing. It gave me some excitement to blog again. Sure, the topics were odd, but it seemed cool.
I can’t even remember where I stumbled upon the site, but it was only a few days before starting.
It was Nov. 16 when I first e-mailed Nicky, asking her about the next challenge. She basically shooed me off like a buzzing fly around her head. She did say she wouldn’t mind doing another one (so, I think the idea was always there!), but it would have to wait. Ya know, with holidays and such coming.
Talk about absurdity!
In December, I inquired again. Maybe January?
Shooed away, again.
I even offered to help, but I couldn’t take on this challenge. After all, I don’t get as many hits per day as a media giant such as We Work For Cheese gets.
So I made my last plea in January. I figured at this point, I was being pushed aside by the corporate big wigs at WWFC and they wondered what they would have to to shut me up.
I mentioned February was a shorter month. And, well, I offered up some flattering and complimentary things. Who knew the big cheese enjoyed that? I thought it was all about the money that flows into that site.
From there, I didn’t hear much. It seemed the teams went to work figuring things out and getting it all ready for a go. This is when the communications crew of WWFC figured out how to make this a truly absurd challenge.
The truly absurd part? As February approached, I honestly didn’t want to participate. (I will duck as a full plate of poutine gets sent flying at my head). All of a sudden, real life had taken hold of me and I wondered if I could get creative enough for the challenge.
In the end, I really am glad this happened — again. I’ve had the chance to find some new blogs to read and get chatty with other people. I hope those “blog” friendships continue after the challenge.
I’m about to get more absurd — I’ve actually enjoyed it and am really appreciative that Nicky and Mike did this again. That being said, when I e-mail again in 6-7 months, feel free to tell me right where I should go if I’m asking when you are running another challenge!

Are you nuts, man? That’s absurd!

Nuts… not so much. I just like pushing buttons? 😀

So now we know who really is to blame…

No, I can’t take any blame here. I merely “suggested” this to Nicky. Several times. 🙂
My hat’s off to all who participated in this challenge on a daily basis. You’re better men than I. Not hard because I’m not a man at all. Now that would be absurd.
I am happy the challenge existed as it did force me to write some things I probably wouldn’t have otherwise written. Good or bad, they made it to the screen, so thank you Nicky, Mike… and PJ.

They do all the work. I was just the “neighborhood kid” who kept bugging them to do something. No need to thank me. Thank (blame) them! 😀
*gasp* It was you!! And here I’ve been blaming CheesyMike all this time. I feel silly now.
Still, it’s been a lot of fun. Well, the first two days were a lot of fun… But I’m pretty sure this challenge is still better than torture. Well, at least some forms of torture…

You can keep blaming CheesyMike!
And it has been fun. For the most part. 🙂
I’ve enjoyed this challenge as well- it’s given me a chance to get to know some other bloggers and to go out on a limb and take a whack at writing fiction. 🙂

That’s why I encouraged Nicky to push forward. Ya know, so people could do some fun stuff. 😀
P.J.! I may need to make a special trip just to berate you. But then, I’d buy you pizza. True story. Indigo

I’ll take the pizza. If I am eating pizza, I can tune you out during the berating. Then we can chat. 😉
Ah, at long last! The truth comes out and the corporate honchos at WWFC are exonerated! You couldn’t have spoken up around Day 3, though? 😉

The guilt was too large. I needed to come clean. I don’t think it exonerates you though… you did go through with it! 😀
How can you have a geocache ACROSS THE STREET and not go to find it!??!?!?!? I DON’T GET THAT!!!!

I know, right??
They never had poutine in New Jersey. Everyone seems to have had it but me. This is quite absurd.

Poutine is fantastic. I even make my own. I’m so in love with it. Even though it’s so bad for me.
What’s absurd is that I’ve never met you before this challenge. Thank heavens (and Nicky and CheesyMike) that’s been rectified.

‘Tis one of the best parts of this challenge — meeting and finding new bloggers to read!
I’ve been exhausted all February long because of this blasted challenge, but in the end, I think it was worth it. This challenge has jump-started my writing mojo, which had been dead and limp for at least a year or so.
I don’t blame you, P.J. I actually totally see where you were coming from.

I fully think it’s worth it, even if we’re all wishing for it to come to an end! And I think it’s great some people have jump-started their writing. It did it for me the first time I was involved!
