This post is written in conjunction with the 30 Days of Writing, a blog challenge devised by Nicky and Mike at “We Work For Cheese.” I’ll be participating throughout the month of June. If interested, you can see my post with the details of the challenge.
Please note that some of these posts will be serious, some will be normal, and some will be an attempt at humor. This one has a little of everything.
Life is full of pressure.
There are times I feel like Billy Joel looks in the above video.
Though life can be magnificent — with friends, family, travel, the beauty that is the World, and whatever else that keeps you going — the reality is there’s a lot of pressure.
Job.
Bills.
Doing the right thing.
Dealing with life.
It’s a lot of pressure to deal with.
With all the crap going on in my world right now, I almost feel like Crash Davis in Bull Durham. I hope you’ve all seen this movie, which I think — no, I know — is the best baseball movie of all time.
That seems like my life.
There’s a lot of shit to deal with (as Crash says). Pressure here, pressure there. I’d be lying if I said this wasn’t the toughest time I’ve had in my life. And that adds to the pressure. Looking to get back on the feet before the pressure explodes.
But…
You see, there’s always a bright spot to the end. Somewhere along the way, the rainbow comes out. The sun shines and the flowers bloom. I know, that’s a happy-go-lucky scene. But it happens. It will. In time.
And then the pressure will start to be less and less.
Said pressure will then kiss my arse.

I used to have significant pressure in my life but I find the older I get the more laid back I am. Could be the drugs.

I’m usually pretty laid-back, but life’s challenges are getting me right now. I know eventually, the laid-back feeling will return!

I’m happy to announce that aging does reduce pressure :

Though I don’t want to keep aging, it’s nice to know the pressure reduces!
I used to thrive on pressure. The more I had to do the better I could function. Now I often feel like if I have to think one more thought or answer one more question my head will explode. I’m learning to ignore most of it.

I can still thrive on pressure, but there are things that get to me where I feel I have no control and that pressure gets to me.
Gotta tell you ,when there have been/and are life challenges, I read about others life challenges, especially in books, and it helps me.
I am in awe of the number of videos you guys are posting in these blogs. Gosh, what a standard to live up to…and the pressure is on!
I agree on reading about other people’s pressures and it helping. I’ve been doing that some.
As for the videos… a quick add to help the posts in these prompts! Haha!
I’m sorry you are stressed. It comes. It goes. And it comes back again.
Still, there’s a lot of truth in the old saying “Someday, you’ll look back on this and laugh”. You may have to wait till you are 90 though. Sorry PJ.

It certainly does come and go. I’ve been through it before and will get through it this time and the next time etc. It’s life, which is what I always go by. Gotta roll with the punches.
You’re right, things will get better and you will come out the other side into that happy-go-lucky scene you’re searching for. Sorry things are stressful now.

I keep hoping it will eventually get better and I’ll come out with the scene I want! Haha!
Shit happens. All we can really control is our response. Pressure is self-created. Choose another response. Love your last line: “Said pressure will then kiss my arse.” Make it start the smooching now. 🙂

While I appreciate the thoughts, I’d have to disagree that pressure is self-created. Some is, without a doubt, but not all. Much of the pressure I am facing right now was because of a couple things that happened to me and the aftermath is a pressure-filled situation. Still, I do my best to control it and make the best of it. And be this for sure — it will eventually kiss my arse!

Well played, well played!
Indeed. That was very well played.
But you didn’t answer the question, did you? Makes one wonder why…

No to both! 😀
And as one pressure blissfully leaves, another pressure is hiding in waiting ready to leap inside!

I never turn down a standing ovation! 😀
Pressure sure is an ugly thing at times. But it’s one of those things that when you come out the other side, it’s like, freedom! Or something like that.
It definitely can be and hopefully it will be a bit of “freedom” when all said and done!
