Photo Blogging Challenge (April 2026): Make your month yours

May 2, 2026

Did you make April yours?

As I scrolled back through my photos from the month, there’s always a common theme. But I needed to figure out how to interpret things.

Making the month yours can be seen in different ways. Part of it with me is just about finding certain ways to be yourself.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is PBC2.jpg

Reality it, though, that Harper is definitely with me to make something mine!

So this month has some variety. It’s a way to find different ways of making the month mine. And being it was Harper’s birthday month …

So we made the month ours! The month had a lot of fun. We went to two hockey games with friends; we hit up our first baseball game of the year; there were a lot of walks and hikes, a whole bunch of geocaches, and things to occupy us.

How about you? Did you make the month yours?

How did you intrepret this theme?

If you participated this month, share your link down below. Here’s my five for the month!

1. My way?

During a day of geocaching. we came across this sign. Apparently, it’s my way!

2.Haircut time!

I had my hair cut earlier this month. Harper was with me and I was able to bring her in. She had a lot of fun, mingled with people and at the end, I couldn’t resist a photo op with my barber, Sal!

3. Geocaching

I decided to head to a small geocaching event with just me and Harper this month. Once there, met up with a couple of friends and we hit up a few caches after the event.

4. Hockey!

We hit up two hockey games this month, one in Utica and one in Syracuse. Two different friends went with each, enhancing the experience and making it even more fun!

5. Happy birthday, Harper!

As I always try and do, I took off Harper’s birthday. A friend joined me and Harper for a day of fun, geocaching, and waterfalls. This is Harper near Taughannock Falls near Ithaca. This 215-foot plunge waterfall is 33 feet higher than Niagara Falls! We had a wonderful hike out and back to these falls.

BONUS

Harper got pretty tired at the baseball game. It was a double header and she took a snooze during the second game.

There’s my five for the month! Let’s see what you came up with! If you took part in this month’s challenge, make sure to link up below.

And for those of you who participated, make sure you try and get to other people’s blogs and comment (here, too!).

Let’s continue to grow this challenge and have a strong community. Come back and check out the others who link later on, too! NOTE: We have a Facebook group for those who participate in the challenge and are interested. I’ll post any announcements there and hopefully ithere.

** CHALLENGE CHANGE **

From this point forward, I am going to do the next theme at the bottom of each linkup. Also, the posting date will now be the first of each month, thus giving you the entire month to take the photos etc.

That means it’s a one-stop shop! Hopefully this helps out with everybody.

So, below is the linkup for February. Make sure you drop your link there.

OK, so it’s time to keep on moving! And our theme for the May? Make your month different. Originally, this was going to be more of using a different lens/app etc, but it’s more open ended. Do something different! Remember to come back on (hopefully) June 1 to link up and check out the theme for that month! I’ve set a calendar reminder for me, so let’s see if that works!

PJ Way! How amazing is that?! I wonder if it’s named after someone or if it’s because everyone on the street likes to wear pajamas all day! 😉 It was definitely your (and Harper’s) month.

Self care is important. With work as stressful as Self care is important. With work as stressful as it usually is during this month, the little things can help you relax. I went this morning for a beard trim. It’s only 30-40 minutes, but it’s nice to have it done. A nice shaping, thinning it out a bit, a hot towel and a straight razor.

Nice.

In the world in which we live, little things like this can really be good for you. Maybe it’s a massage. Maybe it’s a therapy session. Maybe it’s a trip to the barber shop. But take care of yourself. It’s important.

And if you are in my area and need a trim or whatever — check out Chris (@studio11chris ) at @studio11barbersuite in Oneonta. Well worth it!

The only one I truly am sad I missed buying was a limited edition one for the Asher House sometime last year. I waited and lost out. But, she has her collection and I am sure it will keep growing.
