Ladies and gentlemen of the jury … I present to you, an on-time post for the challenge! Let’s hope this becomes normal for me!
Anyway, this is a theme that will hopefully be a lot of fun.
My set of five photos is from my geocaching trip out west. Two of us made this trip, covering more than 2,000 miles and nine states in seven days. It was a bit insane, but we found a lot of geocaches (including my 5,000th!) and saw a lot of wild things. It’s amazing how much of a change it is when you go to a different part of the country.
These photos I am putting up this month are from this trip. It was a lifetime of memories and eventually I will get around to blogging about it and going through all my photos and videos. What a great time and hopefully the five photos I am showing will give a glimpse of this wonderful trip.
So, let’s get October up and running! Here are my five for the month!
1. The views
It felt, at times, like we were on another planet.
2. Many states
We saw a couple of spots with multiple states touching … this was the sign to get to one with three states (Nebraska, Colorado, and Kansas). To get to this, it was a couple of dirt roads in a real desolate area. Later in the trip, we hit the four corners marker, too.
3. Forrest Gump Point
So, we were driving. And I look back in the mirror and I was like, this is a very famous spot for photos. We stopped and started to take photos and as I looked, I realized … this is the Forrest Gump scene where he stopped running! What a very cool place!
4. Mexican Hat
This is another famous formation in Utah. Very cool. Makes you wonder how this happened and stays like this.
5. Colorado River
Some amazing views on this trip …
There are my five. I look forward to seeing what everybody else came up with!

Ooooohhh, the Southwest, my favorite region!
We’ve been to Horseshoe Bend two years ago, I loved it! Way cooler than the tourist infested Grand Canyion, I hope I’m not offending anyone 😉
Congrats on your 5,000th cache, what a milestone.
Check out my post, I also came across a movie location, and what do you know it’s one of Tom Hanks’ counterparts’ house!

All great pics of where you went this month. That last capture is definitely wall-worthy! I love the gorgeous colors. Mine were not quite this scenic!

Beautiful photos!
What a cool trip! I’ve never been out to those states.
These are fantastic. My fave is the first one. I need to get out there!
Your geocaching adventures sure took you to some amazing places! Congratulations on #5000 and also on getting so many great photos. The Forrest Gump Point is particularly wonderful.
