Story Cube Challenge 5: March 18, 2018

March 18, 2018

A crate arrived at Jimmy and Johnny’s pad.

It was a tall crate. Neither knew what it was all about. But it was something addressed to them and … who should open this crate?

I mean, it’s not really a two-person job, right?

Still, these two couldn’t agree and they argued and argued. Who would open it? Who got what was inside?

Some pushing, shoving and arguing happened before they each stumbled into the crate, knocking it over and to the floor. That solved the problem though as the crate cracked and the top popped open.

And staring back at the two of them was …

The current challenge.

…Cheese?

Lots of cheese. But it didn’t look like normal cheese. Something was different about it. From the middle was a glow of green.

Green?

Why was there a glow?

And then out of nowhere… the cheese split open… the green lights pointed up and out popped …

… Marvin the Martian!

As he came out of the cheese, he pulled something from his side and pointed it at Jimmy and Johnny and he said “Should I shoot you two with my incinerator pistol?”

Jimmy and Johnny saw the danger and started to bolt, but Marvin took aim and fired. Jimmy got hit first and stopped in his tracks as a good mess of gooey cheese. He tries to stand but nothing happened, outside of him sticking in place.

Johnny made it outside, but the ray pushed jimmy to a nearby edge … and pushed him over!

Oh no! What could possibly happen? Is Marvin going to be on the loose?

“Meep meep!”

Then, as if on cue, the Road Runner came into the scene and went by, grabbing Johnny before he landed.

“Meep meep!”

The speed kept up as he flew by and grabbed Jimmy right out of the cheese!

“Meep meep!”

Woosh! There he went again, this time grabbing a plunger and popping it on Marvin’s head!

“Meep meep!”

Marvin was shoved back into the crate with a mild scuffle and the crate sealed!

“Meep meep!”

Finally, the Road Runner grabbed the crate, taking it off into the desert where moments later, a big poof of smoke went into the sky.

“Meep meep!”

And Marvin the Martian was no longer a threat to Jimmy and Johnny.

For now …

Nice action. Each sentence compelled me to continue reading. I thought you did a great job incorporating the Looney Tunes characters. In love and light Cheryle

I wrote this about Sam Nader during a public celebration of his 100th birthday. I'm sure I'll have something more in the next day or so as well, but this covers a lot about my thoughts of this amazing man. RIP, Sam. You'll be missed.
