Photo Blogging Challenge (December 2017): Holly Jolly

December 31, 2017

And, just like that, 2017 is in the books.

In a couple of days, we’ll be looking at 2018. That’s when all the excitement of a new year will set in fully and we’ll all push forward to see what kind of things we can accomplish.

For now, we need to put a topper on 2017 with the final photo blogging challenge post of the year. And it’s all about holly jolly.

This month really flew by for me. I didn’t take near as many photos as I would have liked, but I got some shots I like.  It really was a fun holiday season, that’s for sure.

So let’s get on with this … being I apparently had a hard time with dates for this month. Here are my five and I look forward to other posts!

1. Christmas Eve

Cameron is now at the age where he’s getting it and it’s a lot of fun watching. And check him rocking the bow tie on Christmas Eve!

2. The Tree

New York City can be wonderful this time of year. Just a week before Christmas, and I was shocked how close we got to the famous Rockefeller tree.

3. Ho! Ho! Ho!

The annual Christmas parade was in early December in my town and, of course, Santa made an appearance!

4. New York City

This is a pretty famous spot during the holiday season while in NYC.

5. Christmas Day

This doesn’t get old.

There are my five. I look forward to seeing what everybody else came up with!

If you took part in this month’s challenge, make sure to link up below. And for those of you who participated, make sure you try and get to other people’s blogs and comment (here, too!). Let’s continue to grow this challenge and have a strong community. Come back and check out the others who link later on, too!

Also, don’t forget to get back here Monday, January 1 (it will be later in the day … unless I can find a way to get it up later today!) for the January theme!

NOTE: I set up a Facebook group for those who participate in the challenge and are interested. I’ll post any announcements there and hopefully it can be a place where things are discussed and some interaction etc. You can access it here.

Feel free to leave a comment, or e-mail P.J. at hoohaablog@gmail.com. Also, please “Like” HooHaa Blog on Facebook! You can also follow me on Twitter @softball29!

Looks like my comment didn’t go through before my internet connection crashed, uggghh!

I said those pictures certainly reflect HOLLY JOLLY!

What was Cameron’s favorite Christmas gift?

Love the NYC photos, very cool that the Santas drive a convertible! Where is the “ornament fountain”?

Thanks so much for hosting this and many other blogging challenges! Happy new year!

Looks like you had a very jolly month, full of Christmas cheer. Cameron is adorable in his bow tie…matching one for Uncle PJ? New York festivities always look amazing. I look forward to another year of challenges in 2018. I hope you and yours have a safe and Happy New Year!

This is the second year in a row I didn’t make it to the city for the holidays so thanks for giving me a peek! And thanks for hosting the challenge again for another year. I appreciate all the work you put into it.

Looking out my window at snow coming down, not feeling especially Holly Jolly right now, so the upside of playing catch-up on my PBC blog hopping is maybe it’ll spark a more cheerful attitude.

Those photos from New York are fantastic. And they shed a little light on a giant red ornament holiday display I spotted in downtown Calgary in December – a little bit of copycat phenomenon, I think.

I can’t help but wonder what kind of gift Cameron was most excited about this year. The toy trends change over so quickly.

Looking forward to another year of PBC. Thanks for organizing our small group.

I also guess this is why hitting back roads to work is good -- you can stop and take a photo and not worry about anybody coming (usually)! Main roads around here are fine for now, but it's definitely quite picturesque on the lawns/trees etc.

When I covered MiLB years ago for a small daily, managers sometimes wanted my opinion or asked me to talk to the scorekeeper about changing a ruling. There should be a happy medium somewhere now being most or all teams have video/TV. That wasn’t the case with the team I covered.

Another change to the minors is in store this year.

MLB informed minor league teams they will not be allowed to appeal rulings made by official scorers this year.

@jjcoop36 explains why:

I mean, if you hold a #Wrestlemania in an open stadium... eventually rain delays had to come, right? 🤣
