Photo Blogging Challenge (November 2017): Blue

November 30, 2017

Is November really over?

Where did the month … nay, where did 2017 go?

My goodness.

But here we are… the end of another month of this challenge. This one should give some interesting results, I’m thinking. For me, I decided to utilize my light box (which I am trying to do more of) and took some photos in that. That is going in a different direction for me, but I liked it.

I will look forward to seeing what everybody else came up with. Until then, here are my five for the month.

1. Roll ‘em

I love dice. Like, I mean, I really love dice. I have quite a few just … because. So I dug out the blues and I like the look of this shot.

2. Diabetes awareness

November is National Diabetes Month, and with the color being blue, I needed to find something to do with this in mind, here are two virtual race medals I’ve earned. The one on the left I finished during this month. I’m really enjoying virtual races and it’s pushed me to walk every night and keep pushing to get healthier.

3. Pathtags

Pathtags are cool little items, mainly used in geocaching. I have quite the collection of them and have made several of my own. This is one of my favorites, which was made before I went on my trip to Ireland in 2010. The blue, of course, is supposed to be water! (keep a look here in the next few weeks… there might be a blog-themed Pathtag coming …)

4. Rocks!

The “rocks” movement is pretty cool. I found this one during the month and thought it would make a good addition for this challenge. I am going to work on some rocks myself over the winter and release them in the spring.

5. Signature item

A few years ago, I needed a new signature item. And, being I got annoyed with not seeing writing utensils in caches, I thought making a golf pencil as my sig item would be a good idea!

There are my five and I look forward to seeing what others had this month!

If you took part in this month’s challenge, make sure to link up below. And for those of you who participated, make sure you try and get to other people’s blogs and comment (here, too!). Let’s continue to grow this challenge and have a strong community. Come back and check out the others who link later on, too!

Also, don’t forget to get back here Friday, December 1 for the December theme!

NOTE: I set up a Facebook group for those who participate in the challenge and are interested. I’ll post any announcements there and hopefully it can be a place where things are discussed and some interaction etc. You can access it here.

Nice assortment of blues. That is a lot of blue dice! But I love the effect. Kudos to you for trying to keep fit by walking. I have good intentions…………Anyway, Jefferson City has a “rock thing” going on too. I think it looks like a fun activity!

Love how you made the blue theme into some kind of a collection display. the dice are absolutely fantastic! Congratulations on your medals and of course of going the extra miles!

I heard about the rocks movement, very cool, something for those who found all the cases in the area and need a new challenge!

Ditto on the dice – great idea! I do wonder how you kept track of which dice needed to be returned to which board game. 🙂

You sent me off on a 20 minute adventure looking into the painted rock phenomenon. It’s sure taken off and I like the thought behind the movement. I immediately wondered about the environmental impact, much the same as my on-going mindfulness about the potential downsides of geocaching. Like geocaching, there are some common sense things that can be done to minimize the impact: be mindful where you collect the stones from, use environmentally-friendly paint and clear coat; place in an appropriate spot. Some of my favourite swag to trade for from geocaches is painted rocks – little mountain scenes, flowers, etc. Much more special than McDonald’s toys, etc.

I also guess this is why hitting back roads to work is good -- you can stop and take a photo and not worry about anybody coming (usually)! Main roads around here are fine for now, but it's definitely quite picturesque on the lawns/trees etc.

I mean, if you hold a #Wrestlemania in an open stadium... eventually rain delays had to come, right? 🤣
