Leave it to me to mess the easiest of themes up.
Well, I didn’t mess up the theme, per say. Rather, I messed up the posting! I’ve worked a bunch lately and with Halloween being on the 31st, I totally lost my thoughts. And by the time I remembered … I was already at work.
Go figure.
Alas, better late than never! And I always leave the linkup live for seven days, so hopefully that helps.
I’ve also been slowly catching up on visiting and commenting past challenges I missed. I still have a few more to go, but there’s been some great posts!
All that being said, it’s time to see what this month has brought us. I do look forward to seeing what others did for this theme! Here is my five for the month:
1. Sunrise
I went to the Jersey shore at the beginning of the month and several shots from this challenge are from that trip. I got up uber early one of the days to catch a sunrise. Totally worth it. There will be another shot from that shoot further down.
2. Perfect weather
I always visit South Jersey in the fall because … less people. It’s usually cooler, but still nice. But this early October weekend brought perfect weather — mainly blue skies and in the 70s. I had to go buy a bathing suit so I could get closer to the water and not worry if it washed up on me.
3. A great season
One of the nights in Jersey … Ocean City had fireworks, so took a trip up to catch them. The tripod I had was fighting with me, so this ended up being done by hand …and I loved the look of it!
4. Before the sunrise
I loved the colors in this shot. It was before the sunset, but as the light started to be more noticeable.
5. Cameron!
Cameron is back! Went and saw him at his Sunday soccer camps. It’s always fun to watch him. So. Much. Energy.
There are my five and I look forward to seeing what others had this month!
If you took part in this month’s challenge, make sure to link up below. And for those of you who participated, make sure you try and get to other people’s blogs and comment (here, too!). Let’s continue to grow this challenge and have a strong community. Come back and check out the others who link later on, too!
Also, don’t forget to get back here Wednesday, November 1 for the November theme!
NOTE: I set up a Facebook group for those who participate in the challenge and are interested. I’ll post any announcements there and hopefully it can be a place where things are discussed and some interaction etc. You can access it here.

Wonderful, wonderful pictures. I especially love the (pre) sunset at the beach. So peaceful. Always great to see young Cameron smiling. Also I’ m a sucker for fireworks, so this post was definitely a treat for me. Thank you!
Beautiful Jersey photos and Cameron is always adorable!
I’ve got to come up with a reason to get to the shore. I have friends that visit almost every summer. Your pictures make me want to visit even more.
I thought the sunrise was spectacular….until I got to the sunset! The colors are so vivid. Love it! I always have difficulty capturing fireworks. I like that yours has a red theme going for it. And…of course…Cameron is always a wonderful photo opp. He’s growing up so fast!
September and October and the most BEAUTIFUL months in Corolla… I swear I am going to dunk this weekend in the water!!! Your photos bring me home… so beautiful. My favorite is the fireworks.. WOW!!! That is an awesome capture….
And soccer… I MISS SOCCER! I didn’t care for 8 a.m. games but I loved going to every single one of them!

Shoreline photos aren’t something I get to try very often…the shore of the small reservoir in the middle of Calgary just isn’t the same thing as the ocean shore. You made some fantastic landscapes and I especially like the way you include a long expanse of sand to anchor each composition, rather than looking straight out to sea. And adding a dash of Cameron? Perfect way to round out your selection for October.
Sky and sunset pics are my fave and nothing is better than the beach 🙂

All your shots are brilliant. I especially like the seascapes and how the sunsets are defined by colour and tone, I like the area that lacks detail as it emphasises the colour, tone and simplicity of the lines that form the beach, land and sea.
