For those of you ready for another writing challenge, I hope you saw my original announcement not too long ago covering this challenge.
Today is about the themes.
Below are the dates for the challenge, as well as the corresponding themes. Three of the dates (location ones) are set up to connect to one another. So maybe you did something back during January’s challenge that you want to connect. Maybe it’s something new. Either way, the idea is to hopefully have all three of these posts work together in one form or another. These are listed as “Story 1, 2, 3” to make it easier.
The biggest thing to remember with this challenge is to have fun! Hopefully it goes well and it can be a yearly thing, much like the 20 Days of Chill!
Anyway, enough of all that, let’s get on with the themes.
2017 10 Days of Heat:
- August 1: On a hot summer’s night …
- August 3: STORY 1: Tokyo, Japan
- August 8: Orange
- August 10: Diving into the deep end
- August 15: Beach life
- August 17: STORY 2: Anchorage, Alaska
- August 22: Camp life
- August 24: Fireworks
- August 29: Best summer memory
- August 31: STORY 3: New York, New York
And that’s everything – all 10 themes ready for you to interpret and have fun with. My hope is if the themes are announced this far out, you’ll have a chance to get ahead and even schedule some. And let’s see how many people finish the full challenge – that’s always interesting to see.
Let me know below if you plan on taking part … and get ready for August 1!

I had fun doing the January chill challenge though it seems rather a long time ago, very strange
I’m definitely going to do this August challenge as I like writing with themes & also, it helps to keep me writing

hi P.J. 🙂 This is a cool challenge. I’m in! I can’t promise to do the whole thing, but I’ll try my best to do as much as I could. Cheers for now <3

Love the illustration you’ve created! I’ll have to think about the prompts before I commit, but hey, who am I kidding, I love a challenge, so I guess I’m in!
