It’s that time of year again.
Each April, our area does the local Relay for Life. For those who know, the Relay is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.
This year’s Relay is April 29.
Though I’ve stopped being an active participant, I still obviously try and help with fundraising. My mother still participates and each year attempts to raise about $1,000. She’s not part of a team – she does it on her own.
Each year, I post something here in hopes that people might consider donating to the cause. Any amount helps her reach her goal.
This cause is obviously near and dear to my family as my father died from cancer. I have several friends who have battled this awful disease. I know others who have died from it as well.
Let’s keep trying to find a cure.
As in the past, you can either do a straight donation, or dedicate luminaries ($10 each). If you dedicate luminaries, let me know and I will attempt to get a photo. It’s not always easy to find them all though, so I can’t promise – but will do my best.
The link to donate to my mother’s Relay page is: http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR/RelayForLife/RFLCY17EA?px=36489160&pg=personal&fr_id=79215.
Thank you in advance for any help you can give. I still hold out hope that there will be a cure for cancer in my lifetime.

Good for your Mom!
Raising $1,000 on your own every year for a cause is tough work.
(And I am a nonprofit fundraiser for a living.)
When I was still actively involved, I used to do a pretty good job at raising in the $1,500 range. So I try and push anything I can for my mother now, getting those. I also tend to donate more toward her than I used to do for myself! I always put it on the blog, but I’m not sure how many people actually have donated, but I figure it’s always worth the attempt!
