A Day Zero Project goal of P.J.’s has been completed!
Goal completed: Have a photo exhibit of some sort somewhere.
Date completed: March 6, 2011.
Number: 55 (remember, these goals will not all be done in order. It’s a random list where the numbers actually are).
Description: I’ve always wanted to have some of my photos shown somewhere. No matter if it’s a show, an exhibit, a sale — whatever. The opportunity came to me when I was offered a spot at the local cafe. Cross Roads Cafe shows off something different each month. It’s my hope to sell a few photos and see if there’s any feedback on these images that I’ve chosen.
Why I wanted to do it: Something different. A way to find out if my photos can sell at all or if they make a good display. I have some bigger ones and some smaller ones and I think the images are affordable, yet don’t seem to be low balled.
How I did it: I know the owner of the cafe and was offered a month in 2011. Once I picked it, I started to choose images. I have about 25 or so photos hanging, mostly all matted. I have a couple of metal prints, too. The sizes of the photos are 5X7, 8X10 and 8X12. There are two 11X14 metal prints, too. Things were set up today, so it will be interesting to see how it all comes out. I’m glad I had the chance to do it.
About P.J.’s Day Zero Project: Day Zero is a project where people come up with 101 things to do over 1001 days. I started the project on Oct. 10, 2010 with an anticipated finish date of July 8, 2013. Goals will not be revealed until they are completed. A private list is at the Day Zero website and the list will be made public upon completion of the project. It’s my thoughts that if things are kept private, should I not do them, change or find a way around it, I’d only be cheating myself.
Awesome! Do you have a picture of your pictures up in the cafe to share with us? We have a lot of that here on the island, rotating each month at cafes, restaurants, galleries, etc. “First Friday” is opening night each month. Congrats on getting your photos up, you take great pictures.
Yes…congratulations getting them up! I hope you sell some 😀
